‘Te Warawara’Adults SizeFull Length‘Te Warawara’ has been designed to honour the mighty Warawara Whenua Ngahere. A vast mountainous range located between Pawarenga and Mitimiti in the Hokianga region. Wararara is one of the largest kauri stands in the country and is home to many threatened native species, including North Island kiwi and kaka, bats and karearea (New Zealand falcon). Noted as one of the utmost historical and cultural significance to the hapū of Te Rarawa. It comprises all of the Kauae-o-Ruru-Wahine and Te Takanga blocks, and parts of Waihou Lower, that covers an area of 12,376 acres of native bush with some very rugged hill country that has been saved because it is virtually inaccessible.Its mountainous ngahere is  locally known as the ‘spirit forest’. The feathers used are locally sourced from a reputable supplier, and of a high grade quality. The taniko pattern applied is the  ‘Patiki’ it represents the ‘Flounder’. It’s form is symbolic of abundance and blessings by bestowing hospitable good luck and prosperity. The band is woven from top quality NZ wool and also locally sourced.
